Prostrations for Peace

Rancho Delicioso Yoga Deck 2-4pm

Saturday, October 14th, JIVANA will hold a "prostrations for peace" practice. This is the last day of Pitru Paksha and it is the new moon. A great time to lay new seeds we wish to see blossom as the moon begins to grow. What do we wish for ourselves and this world in this moment of time?

This workshop and practice is being offered so we might humble ourselves and pay homage to our ancestors. We can consider this practice a prayer on some level. We can also consider it ancestral healing or even a purification.

May we use our body temples to call in the energies of the sages of all the ages. Through our body we can bless our ancestors so they may continue on with their journey and leave us and this world in peace.

Event details:

  • Please join the SHERO FEST WhatsApp group for directions (although you can find Rancho Delicioso on Google maps).
  • Shero Fest sadhana will be taught and practiced before prostrations
  • Pants are suggested as we will not be using mats for full prostrations.
  • Prostration goals: 27, 54, or 108.
  • You may bring items for the ancestor altar (items representing family members), items for the liberation altar (crystals, deity statues), consenting flowers and crystals.
  • This is a by donation offering.

Modified prostrations are okay but full prostrations are encouraged. Here is a helpful diagram of the prostration movements and posture. Below is a video demonstrating both a modified and full prostration.
