Preparation for SHERO FEST

Saturday, October 14th

We call in the blessings of our ancestors as we embark on a festive spiritual challenge starting the next day. On this day, (the final day of Pitru Paksha -time period of ancestor honoring and healing), we have the beautiful opportunity to first offer our remembrance and blessings to them.

  1. Sunrise Club call to action water blessing day.  JIVANA will be at the Montezuma River at 5am for Shero Fest sadhana, sun bowing, and an ancestral blessing ceremony.
  2. Rain or shine Ancestral healing workshop and prostration practice at the yoga deck/shala at Rancho Delicioso 2-4pm.  Shero Fest Sadhana (breath work, meditation), explanation of Shero Fest, Durga, Navaratri, the prostration practice and then the commencement of.
  3. Feeling super-hero-esque and wish to dance? Head to Aves for the Futuro Verde dance party fundraiser (afternoon through 10pm).  It will already be going.  Continue your prayers on the dance floor!

If Shero Fest had a "main thing", this is it.  The sadhana centers around a particular breath work practice.  All details are on the Shero Fest Sadhana page.  This is where we get our power.  Let's Sadhana!
  2. Tiny Temple for Devi consecration at Santa Teresa Tree 2pm-3pm (socializing on the beach weather permitting). Details including meeting location as well as expectations surrounding this event will be covered further via the official Shero Fest WhatsApp group.
  3. Satsang at the Tea Room in Playa Hermosa.  For more details click here.

Tuesday will be held open for "flow". A spontaneous event may rise but mostly the Shero Fest Sadhana will be encouraged.

All those signed up to the WhatsApp group or email list will also receive a satsang and be invited to join a LIVE ZOOM check-in at 2pm. Zoom details will be given to the kula via WhatsApp.

What are the satsangs like? You can listen to the ones from the March 2023 Navratri here.

Aves Workshop Series

Wednesday- Saturday October 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st - donation based events

Durgas Aspects: Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, & Kaalratri Colors: Royal Blue, Yellow, Green, Grey

Aves Hotel 3pm-6pm every evening.

Okay, it's not really "at night" but mid-afternoon to early evening. You may want to come for lunch and hang out at the pool before the workshops begin. Aves is currently donating 20% of proceeds from the lunches toward local nonprofits including one of JIVANA's favorites, Wild Sun Rescue Center. ALL the details for these "Devi workshops" available when you join the WhatsApp group.

Each of these particular events will have its own theme exploring Goddess worship in general while attempting to maintain a sense of traditional Navaratri observances (for instance, which aspect of Durga is being revered that day and why).

All workshops will include:

  • ritual
  • yoga embodiment practices (asana)
  • tantric breathwork
  • inner-yogic visualizations.
  • prasad

You should also expect readings, mantras, and some dance :)

Sliding scale suggested donation $30-50/ 15mil-20mil per workshop

Want to come to all four events? Suggested discounted rate for all four is $100+/ 60mil+ (total)

Cash, PayPal, or Crypto accepted.

Need financial help? Review our "expected contribution model" for alternatives to money :)

Aves is a really beautiful hotel with a majestic tree. It is an incredible place for a "staycation". If you are coming from the Santa Teresa side, you may wish to consider spending a night or two. We are currently working with the owner on a fair local and all-inclusive rate for this event series. The rooms can accommodate 3-4 people. Could be a fun to organize a small group of friends and treat this event series as a mini retreat whether or not that is for one night or four. Rooms come with breakfast and they are now serving lunch. We recommend fasting in the evenings during Shero Fest, if you heed that advice you don't even need to worry about dinner ;) If you are hungry, there are restaurants close by that will be open. Downtown Montezuma is a 5 minute drive.
